Morales: Spider-Man (2018-) #23Carmen Carnero's artwork is just stunning! I love the large dynamic panels that show multiple actions for the same characters in the same frame. Wow I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would.
So fair warning I’ve only ever read 2 events with all the tie ins (Joker War and Absolute Carnage) and I enjoyed the majority of both of those events. I don’t have the same amount of hate for events as other comic fans seem to have,at least not yet.
I’m not currently caught up in Venom and I haven’t read any of the other KIB stuff. But I really didn’t need to, to enjoy this issue.
Miles fights a freaking dragon, it sounds goofy but it’s epic. The art by Carmen Carnero is absolutely gorgeous, and that Dragon might even look cooler than Stegman’s.
The only gripe I really had was their is a part in this where Miles is calling Ms. Marvel, “Kamala” out in public, and she yells his name in public. I mean maybe it’s because they are teen heroes but you would think they would know better.
But yes, just a really fun one shot. Great to see Miss Marvel and Miles interacting once again. Definitely suggest checking this one out. After finishing the Miles Morales PS4 game, this issue hit the spot.
Miles is swinging around NYC when the symbiotes invade. As Miles is fighting a symbiote dragon, he's able to use his Venom attack to free the dragon from the symbiotes. After freeing the dragon, Miles comes into conflict with his friend, Ms. Marvel although she's more vicious than Miles remembers.
This issue was entertaining from start to finish. I like Mile's upbeat and positive personality. He cracks jokes and he's loyal to his friends.
For picking up this issue in the middle of the series, I felt this issue was great to introduce Miles into the King in Black fray. I just love reading comics with my kids! This is a great series for reading out loud and enjoying together with a younger crowd. 8 O
