Momo is pretty damn wonderful. The concept is classic, an epic battle between children who really understand the necessity of wasting time and the horrible monsters, the gray men, who offer up devilish riches to everyone else in order to suck the life and time from everyone else.
Que bonito libro. Es un clásico imprescindible. Es de esos libros que me hubiera encantado tener de pequeño y que habría releído cientos de veces. Y aunque es un libro infantil, los adultos podrán reflexionar mucho sobre su historia y su mensaje. Me quedo fascinado y con envidia de la creatividad del autor. Necesito leer La historia interminable 😍📚
Un libro muy lindo, muy bien escrito y con un mensaje más que evidente. Una fantasía que, a través de los hombres de gris, ofrece una explicación al consumismo que caracteriza nuestra época y cómo, en el afán de conseguir y conseguir más cosas, se deja de disfrutar de aquello que realmente nos gusta hacer.
En resumen, un libro con un argumento contundente, mucha aventura y personajes excepcionales. Mi único pero, y que no tiene nada que ver con el libro, es que llegué demasiado tarde a esta lectura; estoy segura que si lo hubiera leído hace muuchos años, lo hubiera disfrutado más.

Momo es una novela muy linda, muy reflexiva y que me dejó una sensación de paz cuando la terminé.
Sin duda, el mensaje de la historia es no olvidarnos de vivir, de sentir; me hizo pensar en lo que dijo un famoso alguna vez: “La vida es eso que te sucede mientras estás ocupado haciendo otros planes.”
Lo único que diría que no me gustó es que un par de personajes fueron medio abandonados desde la mitad del libro hasta el final, y yo los veía con un potencial mayor para que se involucraran en el desarrollo de la historia.
En definitiva, recomendable, y lo mejor: es para todas las edades.

Kurz dachte ich: Komm, das analysierst du jetzt und gibst dann 4,5 Sterne. Aber dann war mir doch rasch klar, dass mir Momo, Beppo und Kassiopeia einfach schöne Lektürestunden beschert haben und ich jetzt gar nichts analysieren mag, sondern stattdessen ein bisschen aus dem Fenster in den Herbst gucken möchte, der so herrlich ungrau ist.

Although {site_link}Momo was first published in 1973 the story it tells applies perfectly to today. A city is besieged by sinister grey men whose job it is to steal time, leaving the inhabitants believing they have no time left for 'unnecessary' things like enjoyment or caring for others, even their own children. Momo is the only person who is able to fight back against the grey men but even she needs help from Professor Hora who lives outside time.
This is a beautifully written fantasy about a young girl who saves the world but there is a strong moral there as well. The people who try to save time end...

I read this book for the first time as a preteen, but I left it unfinished because I didn't find it engaging or entertaining. A few years later, due to my LOVE for Michaels Endes's {site_link}The Neverending Story, I decided to give it another try, and managed to finish it that time. This book is WONDERFUL! And for the first time since I started keeping my nose in a book 14 hours a day (a girl's gotta sleep), people asked what I was reading, and I had so much fun telling them about the book and how they needed to read it.
It's so sweet, and just smart. Extremely clever, with lovely visuals that did NOT leave me skimming as some OTHER books of late have done. Just wonderful. Everyone needs to read this.

This turned out to be a charming book and one I had never heard of before, although I very much enjoyed one of Ende's other works {site_link}The Neverending Story many years ago.
Although {site_link}Momo was first published in 1973 the story it tells applies perfectly to today. A city is besieged by sinister grey men whose job it is to steal time, leaving the inhabitants believing they have no time left for 'unnecessary' things like enjoyment or caring for others, even their own children. Momo is the only person who is able to fight back against the grey men but even she needs help from Professor Hora who lives outside time.
This is a beautifully written fantasy about a young girl who saves the world but there is a strong moral there as well. The people who try to save time end...

Dopo parecchi libri di Roald Dhal e Bianca Pitzorno (letti e ascoltati da veri fan), con "Momo" siamo rimasti incantanti della storia di Michael Ende, uso la prima persona al plurale perché sono sicuro mia figlia condivide ogni mio commento, vista la sua esaltazione dopo la fine di ogni capitolo.

I read this book for the first time as a preteen, but I left it unfinished because I didn't find it engaging or entertaining. A few years later, due to my LOVE for Michaels Endes's {site_link}The Neverending Story, I decided to give it another try, and managed to finish it that time.
In the end, I quite liked the story, I found it very beautiful actually. My problem with it is that it isn't a diverting read, I found it boring in many occasions, which it is a shame because the message that this story sends is very beautiful. I don't think this book has the right pace for a story intended for kids or young people, it is a miss in this area. Momo is one of those rare books that would do well in a fourth-grade classes, but is also strangely releveant to adults. İlk bölümle birlikte bir hayal kırıklığı yaşamıştım ama sonradan toparladı. Okuduğum en dolu, en anlamlı minik kitaplardan biriydi. Bir sürü ders veriyor, bir sürü de kulak çekiyor. Ciddiyetini fark etmediğimiz ve tam olarak da içinde yaşayıp yavaşça duman olduğumuz bir dünyada, çok daha manalı oldu kitap.
Kesinlikle okumanızı tavsiye ederim.

La trama nos narra acerca de Momo, una niña huérfana que decide escaparse del orfanato para vivir en la calle, dónde hace un montón de amigos que la quieren y se preocupan por ella. Hasta que llegan los hombres grises, unos seres extraños que representan al banco del tiempo y que promueven la idea de ahorrar el tiempo, lo que llevara a todos aquellos bajo su influencia a llevar, sin darse cuenta, vidas tristes y apagadas, alejadas de todo aquello que realmente disfrutan por considerarlo una pérdida de tiempo.
Este es uno de esos libros que nos regalaron cuando niños y que tomé con curiosidad para ver que había entre sus páginas. Y es que el título en ese entonces no me decía nada, ...

Creo que todos deberíamos de leer este bello libro y meditar sobre lo que hacemos con nuestro tiempo. Es una historia infantil con un mensaje relevante para personas de todas las edades, sobre todo por los tiempos que corren. Imprescindible.

This book is WONDERFUL! And for the first time since I started keeping my nose in a book 14 hours a day (a girl's gotta sleep), people asked what I was reading, and I had so much fun telling them about the book and how they needed to read it.
It's so sweet, and just smart. Extremely clever, with lovely visuals that did NOT leave me skimming as some OTHER books of late have done. Just wonderful. Everyone needs to read this.
